While living in Vancouver, where I was involved in travel (groups, wine tours, sports etc.) I was asked to write a business plan for an owner selling a liquor store in West Edmonton Mall. In writing it, Alison and I saw much more potential in the business than was currently happening – so like the Remington Phillishave guy, (dating myself now!) “We liked the company so much – we bought it!”
I love food and really enjoy cooking. (Favorite dishes are probably braised short ribs or lamb shanks). Enjoy big wines and my favorite spirit is tequila!
I’ve done a fair amount of traveling (North America, Caribbean and Europe) and we are looking forward to doing a number of wine groups in the future, first one to France October 2014.
Probably spend too much time reading wine and spirit industry publications and not enough on books – but I did manage to finish Blue Future by Maude Barlow, that turns out has some relevance to our business.
