We're excited! Wine tour planning has begun again!
I've joined a local travel company (Network Travel.ca) as an independent outside agent to develop and promote some exclusive small group tours that will be wine ( or spirits!) inclusive!
Travel and travel planning has always been my first love. We've also been receiving a lot of inquiries about when we might get back into it. With all of us putting trips on hold in the last few years, it's time to dust off our wings and fly again!
I recently travelled to a fascinating part of the world - Egypt and Jordan. It had always been on my bucket list, and I finally had the opportunity to go with a friend of mine who also organizes small group tours. It was definitely a memorable trip and we had to dig deep to draw on our stamina and sense of humour to enjoy long, hot travel days, short nights because of rising before sunrise and enjoying sunset visits to temples and ancient sites, lots of walking. We experienced moments of wonder at what we were seeing - history and unbelievable intact sites built thousands of years ago. And how? It leaves you gob smacked. Food was very good, wines and alcohol were not priorities in these Arab regions, but the odd ice cold beer was delicious! I did try wines from Egypt while on the Nile Cruise, and we sampled some lovely whites and Roses from The River Jordan. People everywhere were so friendly and welcoming, happy to see us visiting their countries of which they are so proud. It was truly a trip of a lifetime.
Our first small group Wine tour will be aboard a Viking River cruise travelling Passau to Budapest on the Danube River in June 2024. Viking has a stellar reputation and having travelled with them twice before, I can attest to this. We've arranged some pre and post tours for people to opt into including a private wine tour in the Tokai region near Budapest with expert wine guide.
Also being planned is a second "Winos & Rhinos II trip to South Africa. We will include private game reserve stay and game drives, touring through scenic regions along The Garden Route, the Winelands and into Cape Town, one of the world's most beautiful cities. Private tours to wineries, and unique experiences galore! Optional pre and post tours can be arranged to Kenya, Tanzania or Botswana and Victoria Falls too.
So, contact us if travelling and enjoying wine experiences are what you want to do!
