Chinese New Year 2023 is The Year of the Water Rabbit which commences January 22, 2023!  Based on the Lunar Calendar, New Year's Day is the first day of the New Moon.

Some interesting superstitions -  don't wash your hair, or your clothes on New Year's Day - you will wash away any good luck!  Also don't do any sweeping as you will sweep away good luck!

The sign of Rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in Chinese culture.  2023 is predicted to be a year of hope.  The upcoming Year of the Rabbit, however, embodies yin, the passive principle of the universe, which manifests in relaxation, fluidity, quietness and contemplation.  The overall energy of 2023 is likely to be gentle and calm, with people looking “for a more balanced life,” . There could also be more movement and traveling, “just like that of a swift rabbit.”
