DeWayne joined our team in March this year, and can help you find a great wine that overdelivers for the price. He's a WSET Level 3 graduate, and in addition to wines, has a keen interest in craft beer.

Aligra has never been know as a big beer store. Our fridge capacity is limited, and the focus as always been more on wines and spirits. But, when you have someone on staff like DeWayne, it's encouraging to take a look at those fridges with a fresh set of eyes.

So, in the next while, we will be clearing out some beers at great prices (and they're good beers!) to make room for some local crafty newcomers.   We are also planning on some Craft Beer tastings at the store, and "pop up" tastings on weekends this fall.

If you want to come by and talk to DeWayne you will find him working at Aligra most Saurdays and Sundays.  Pick his brain, try something new and enjoy the conversation!

In the meantime, here's three new beers we're showcasing this month:

Apex Predator Dead Woodsman

American Pale Ale with slight hints of fresh bread and light caramel malt flavour mix with bright floral, grapefruit, and orange hop aromatics.  Apricot and peach hop flavours combine with subdued citrus esters and a hint of star anise spiciness in the finish.  A balanced, refreshing, yet complex beer. This beer appears a slightly hazy, pale copper amber colour, with one brash finger of puffy, loosely foamy. Alcohol 5.2%  IBU 25.  Appearance: Pale copper and Amber  Aroma: Pine and Citrus.  Flavour:  Apricot and Peach with a crisp mouthfeel.

Eighty Eight Brewing Company  Hammerpants

American Pale Ale with the prominent flavors of pine, stonefruit and citrus. The subtle bitterness and clean finish make this a ridiculously easy drinking go-to for pretty much anyone.    First brew Oct 1 2020.    Alcohol 4.8%.   IBU 35.   Appearance: Bright gold, white head.  Aroma: Pineapple, passionfruit, stone fruit, sweet fruits.  Flavour:  Clean, stone fruit, easy bitterness with a crisp yet buttery mouthfeel.  Key ingredients:  Golden promise base malt, Amarillo and Ella hops.

Sea Change Brewing The Wolf

New England Pale Ale: Pineapple, passionfruit, orange, guava, mango hop character driven by a huge Vic Secret and Citra dry hop. Smooth, full body from Alberta-grown oats and wheat.    1st Brew: August 2018.  ABV; 5.5%.  IBU 40. Appearance: Pale copper and            Amber.  Aroma: Citrus.  Flavour:  Pineapple, Passionfruit, Stonefruit, nice crisp mouthfeel.   Ingredients: Vic Secret and Citra dry hop.

We hope to see beerlovers in the store very soon!

Cheers!
