NOW BEING HELD AT LEXUS WEST EDMONTON - 111TH AVE AND 170 STREET
This is our FIRST live wine tasting in more than 2 years thanks to Covid and, with the state of things happening in Ukraine, we have decided to host the wine tasting and help out for a worthy cause.
Come out and join us in tasting up to 25 different new and exciting Rose wines, from all around the world and from many different grape varieties and blends. #drinkpink and #roseallday have been trends for several years and there's no sign of it going away. Sipping on a Rose make you feel happy, relaxed and light hearted. A great way to enjoy patio season, being outside more and socializing with friends.
We will have Wine Representative pouring their selection of favourite Rose wines from their portfolios. Light appetizers will be available thanks to the generous participation of Jimmy Shewchuk and his team.
Vitaliy Milentyev, a friend and Business associate at Synergy Network here in Edmonton and I were talking at the monthly meeting recently about the dire situation in Ukraine and how we are all affected by what is happening across the world. He told me about a local Edmonton volunteer organization that has demonstrated quick and direct aid to help in this war, and right away, I suggested we partner our Roses in May Wine Tasting event and help to raise funds to support this organization - Firefighter Aid Ukraine.
Here is what Vitaliy told me -
"When the war started, Kevin and his team had immediately responded by calling out to the community for high-value emergency response, medical supplies and had it delivered to Ukraine by a privately-chartered cargo plane in the matter of 2 weeks since the beginning of the war. By having the gear delivered directly into the hands of the emergency response guys bypassing all the red tape, the gear has been deployed and helped save lives in the matter of 1 week after the delivery. The fact was spotted by CNN news crew during the rescue efforts following the airstike of the city of Lviv. Click here to see the CTV replay.
FAU continues collecting much needed equipment and supplies and all funds raised go towards sourcing mostly medical supplies both, in Canada and closer to Ukrainian borders, if we can source it more cost-efficiently there.
So while we in Edmonton enjoy gathering and sipping some lovely spring wines, let's open our hearts and wallets to assist people going through what we can never truly imagine and hopefully make a difference.
We have moved the event from our store (which is too small), to Lexus West Edmonton's beautiful showroom, thanks to Bruce Kirkland's kind invitation.
We are charging a nominal fee of $10 per person which will be donated directly to this cause. Order forms for wines will be available and we will offer a 10% discount on any wines purchased for pick up.
Please share this with your friends! We look forward to welcoming you back next week Thursday May 19 and raising money for this very worthy cause!
