Tasting Notes: Matthew McConaughey and Master Distiller Eddie Russell are proud to present this rare, small-batch bourbon. Eight Year-Old Wild Turkey Bourbon is refined with Texas mesquite and oak charcoals for deeper flavor and complexity. The aroma is a balanced blend of vanilla and spices. Flavors of caramel, pear, and hints of citrus round out the palate, while the subtle, smoky finish is buttery smooth-with notes of gentle pepper and toasted oak.

Old Tub (Unfiltered) 100 Proof  United States

Tasting Notes: The name Old Tub holds particular meaning in the history of the Jim Beam distillery. In 1892 when James and Park Beam took over leading operations, they named the family distillery after their best-selling bourbon brand, Old Tub. The brand's name was a reference to the large mash tubs in which mash was mixed, cooked, and stirred by hand. Jim Beam Old Tub is a non-chill filtered, non-carbon filtered, Bottled in Bond bourbon. Up until 2020, it had been continually distilled and sold only in 375ml bottles at the distillery’s gift shop in Clermont, KY. With its broader release, it is now being bottled in 750ml sizes. While billed as a limited release when it came out in June, it seems to be readily available on shelves. To be labelled Bottled in Bond, the whiskey must be the product of one distillation season and one distiller at a single distillery, aged in a federally bonded warehouse under U.S. government supervision for at least four years, and it must be bottled at exactly 100 proof. Additionally, the Bottled in Bond label must clearly identify the distillery where it was distilled and where it was bottled, if different.

The palate mingles fresh fruit-salad flavors, vanilla, honey, fudge, sweet citrus, taffy, and a delicate pepperiness. This expression has a fantastic texture, balancing soft fruits, fudge sweetness, and citrus, to finish with sweet melon, icing sugar, and a dynamic spiciness." (Spring 2022)

Ardbeg Anthology 14 Years – The Unicorn’s Tale (46%, OB, 2024)  Scotland

Tasting Notes: Nose: Very coastal and undeniably peaty (duh). A few drops of iodine, some fresh seaweed and some burnt rubber as well. Initially chargrilled lemon peel as well, as well as lemon balm, but then also some sweet tropical influences. Think guava, mango, and the like. The peat evolves into more elegant wood smoke, alongside tinges of sandalwood. Taste: Slightly thinner than I’d like. Some medicinal peat, as well as grilled fennel. There’s a touch of smoked kiwi, tinned peaches and more of those lemons as well. Also a nice salinity, some aniseed and soot, accompanied by roasted malts. Finish: Medium length. A good amount of lingering wood smoke. Slightly dry. Cloves. Somewhat medicinal.

Oak balances the up-front sweetness, while flavors of sweet corn, salted caramel, and toasted nuts carry through to a long finish.

Tasting Notes: The magic of the marriage of three different wood casks come to its splendour when our malts are matured in ex-bourbon, ex-french wine and ex-sherry casks. It embellishes our malt with the finest shade of Amber, whiff of caramelized pineapple, vanilla, hints of black tea, raisins & citrus and subtle nuttiness. The smoothness and flavour linger long after the glass has been put aside. Trini, The three wood was conceptualised based on the individual contribution of each wood without overshadowing the original whisky profile which is light fruity with sweet vanilla and spice, a subtle nuttiness to chew on with a medium to reasonably long finish. Nose: Gentle and mellow on the nose.
