The short, intense summer we experienced here in Edmonton is feeling just about over, even though it's technically not until September 21. The chillier days have showed up way too early for my liking.
It's a summer like we've never known. Summer holidays were mostly in your own backyard, or short road trips away. Very little, if any dining out in our favourite restaurants, heck, even the Stanley Cup Hockey was being played in August, in arenas with no fans.
West Edmonton Mall has been open for a couple of months, but without the usual swell of international and Canadian tourists, it didn't feel the same.
We're grateful to our loyal customers for continuing to purchase wines, spirits and beer and gift baskets from us either in person or for delivery. We love seeing you even from behind a mask!
But it's not been easy. We're doing our best to serve our community safely and bringing in great wines at sale prices for you. We're all doing our best to keep ourselves and others safe, by observing the Health Protocols in place in Edmonton. It's the only way we will be able to continue keeping businesses open. Talk of a "second wave" is still out there, so it's important we do it right. Many, including us, could likely not withstand another closure.
So if you're looking for an outing, don't hesitate to come in and say hi, pick up some favourites or try something new. We'd love to see you!
However, we understand if you don't want to come in person. Reach out by email or phone and we'll prepare your order for delivery. We really need to continue to support each other.
Personally, I can't wait until we can invite you in for one of our in-store tasting events! Reminiscing, they were such good times and a wonderful way to get together and try new wines each season. Let's hope we can do it again soon.
In the meantime, don't go thirsty! We're here to quench that thirst!
