Tasting Notes: Viognier and Marsanne are two grape varietals typical of a white blend from the Rhone Valley. The Osborne family does a fine job here. Medium gold color. Nose redolent with orange blossom, honeysuckle, honeydew melon, applesauce. Palate: medium full body, crisp, clean, smooth texture, white peach, apple, lemon cream, refreshing. The usual recipe: 55%-ish Vognier, 45%- ish Marsanne. Pair with a variety of foods: light grilled chicken, pork, fruit salads. Drink now, but you could probably cellar for 2-3 years.

Tasting Notes: Le Volte dell’Ornellaia 2024 is an approachable, medium-to-full-bodied Super Tuscan red wine from Italy. Fresh red fruit like cherries and wild strawberries emerge on the nose that provide aromatic depth and freshness. Exquisite to taste, the wine has a bold structure, while remaining elegant and delicate. Le Volte dell’Ornellaia is harmonious and balanced, complex and juicy, a joy to drink. 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot , 5% Petit Verdot Alc. : 13% vol. The different varietals were fermented separately in small steel tanks to maintain their characteristics. The alcoholic fermentation was followed by malolactic fermentation, again in steel tanks. The wine was then aged for 10 months, partly in barriques used previously for Ornellaia and partly in tanks, to obtain the perfect balance between tannic structure and the expression of fresh fruit.
